A Cozy January Reading List 🤍-4 books to kick off your 2026

Happy New Year!

Lately, I’ve been craving stories and words that feel grounding — the kind you read curled up on the couch, during a quiet flight, or with a warm drink nearby. This little reading list isn’t about rushing to finish chapters; it’s about how a book makes you feel while you’re in it.

These are the books I’m spending time with during my cozy girl season.

Fervent — Priscilla Shirer

This is a sit-with-it kind of book. One I open when I need grounding, clarity, or a reminder to be intentional with my thoughts and prayers. I love reading this first thing in the morning to help ground my day. It feels powerful yet comforting- and there are pages in the back for your use to create your own prayers. Take notes, highlights, pray and enjoy this book.

Best read: early mornings, journal nearby, no rushing.

Murder at La Villette — Cara Black

A cozy mystery with Paris woven into every page. This one feels cinematic — like wandering quiet streets, wrapped in a coat, solving something slowly and thoughtfully. It’s immersive without being overwhelming. I fell in love with Paris when I went-only made sense to get a book set in the City of Lights. This book is also translated in multiple languages!

Best read: rainy afternoons, travel days, or when you want to feel transported.

No Ordinary Love- Myah Ariel

This one has been on my TBR for months and now I am ready to reflect on something soft, emotional, and intimate. This story leans into connection, vulnerability, and modern love in a way that feels tender rather than dramatic. It’s the kind of book you read slowly because you don’t want to break the mood.

Best read: evenings, dim lighting, phone on DND.

The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down — Haemin Sunim

Excited about this one. This is the kind of book you don’t binge — you sip it along with your green tea or hot water and lemon. The chapters are short, calming, and made to feel like gentle reminders to return to yourself. It’s perfect for January when you’re trying to reset your nervous system, move with intention, and create a softer pace without pressure.

Best read: slow mornings with tea, or right before bed when you want quiet thoughts.
